Image Scaner have come a long way in the last decade and the many improvements are beneficial to private consumers and business as well.  They use a variety of methods to produce a final image including photomultipliers (on older drum scanners) to rotary methods which use a CCD array rather than a photomultiplier.  Digital scanners are becoming more and more popular as time goes by because they work well with the new digital cameras that are evolving on the market.  Enhancements such as the addition of 3D scanners are allowing users to create images that are in full-color and very realistic.

Studying science can be a very rewarding experience for students. They usually like this subject in elementary school because the activities are very hands on. One really neat activity that I did with my students this year was make erosion books. After studying erosion for a unit and looking at the effects it can have on the land, the students had to take digital cameras outside on our school grounds and find evidence of erosion. They then printed out the photos on our A3 inkjet printer and made books. The books described what they saw in each photo and what they thought caused the erosion. It was a great lesson because the students were doing the teaching.

Despite the current economic climate, the sales of digital photo frames and digital cameras are not only holding up but increasing. It’s hardly surprising, they are very versatile pieces of kit and, when compared on a cost per photograph basis, are very attractive economically in comparison with the more traditional offerings available. Digital photo frames, for example, have hugely increased functionality when compared with conventional frames. They allow hundreds of photos to be displayed using a single frame, avoid printing costs and are more readily transportable. It’s even possible to get a keychain digital photo frame for around $10 which means you can carry a good selection of photos of your family wherever you go.
