Re-installing drivers after reformatting a computer can be a terrible pain. It’s recommended that you either burn a CD of any drivers you might need for your devices, or keep the drivers on an external flash drive for easy installation with a computer driver updater to help you.

Setting this up ahead of time could save you a lot of time and several headaches down the road, if you find yourself needing to format your computer, but you no longer have the original manufacturers disk to several of your peripherals. Many websites offer you the ability to download drivers for lesser known devices which may not be supported by the manufacturer anymore.
