My wife and i just purchased our first home.  we have been living in a small apartment in order to save  money for a generous down payment.  We found a home in a very nice neighborhood for a greatly reduced price.  the price was reasonable since it needs massive repairs.  We are going to hire a skip bin and literally gut the place.  We will remain in the apartment until we have completed most of the remodeling.  We plan on doing most of the work ourselves in order to save  money.  It may take a little longer but we are really looking forward to this project.  We can make sure that everything is exactly the way we want it.
