If you are a first time dog owner, or you plan to be then one of the first things you need to take into account is how you dog will get on with the other members of the family and I don’t just mean the human members. If you have a cat, hamster, rabbit or any other type of pet, how do you think the dog will get on with them. The truth is that if both are still young animals then they might grow to accept each other but if you dog has not had dog training or has not socialized with other animals much and is older then this could be a recipe for disaster, you need to think about this carefully before bringing a dog home.
