I know, splurging on a deep fryer with room for one basket is a luxury for most homes.  Most people will never use theirs enough to justify the initial purchase cost.  Out here on the sunny West Coast though, these things are worth their weight in gold, enough so that i picked up a double deep fryer.  Two baskets, so I can do fresh tempura prawns and home made sweet potato fries at the same time.  My fryer cost a few hundred dollars, but the amount of money it’s saved me being able to have my neighbours come over for a fry-up rather than going to a restaurant has more than paid it off.  That’s why I love my double deep fryer!
