I promised my grandmother that I would be there if she ever needed any help around the house. Of course, I didn’t count on her calling twice a week wanting different things fixed. First it was perfectly normal things. Her pool service in Placerville couldn’t come out that week, so she needed the pool cleaned. Her sprinklers broke once and I had to fix them. And there was even a problem setting the thermostat for different days of the week. But after a while I started to realize that she was intentionally breaking things or making up problems to get me to come over. It was sweet, but annoying. After all, I have six children and a full time job. I really can’t spend a few hours a day at her house.
