While reading a few diet plan reviews, I found that there are some more simply explained than others.  Some of the programs out there use a lot of jargon when trying to explain just what the participant is supposed to do to lose the weight and keep it off.  I believe the steps are explained in this manner so that the participant feels like it is their fault when they do not succeed.
