I was reading a book the other day that was about how to make money. It was a kind of career development and personal growth book, and was all about making yourself a better person, being more productive and getting what you want out of life.

The fundamental thesis of the book was that making money is difficult. As obvious as that sounds, most people honestly don’t know how to make money — they think that they can get money in some way that doesn’t involve work.

But they call it making money for a reason. You have to actually do something, and make something valuable, otherwise you don’t make money.
